from 19 reviewsThe best tool for people who are learning how to use stones to sharping.

Well-designed, well-manufactured. Excellent attention paid to human factors engineering. This thing does just what it needs to do. Does it well. Very happy to have it

The concept is well thought out, and the quality of the product is amazing! The finish and tolerances are spot on.
I had thought that it would be a good thing to consider injection moulding with increasing demand and sales, but seeing the thing in real life has put that thought to shame; it's some of the highest quality 3D printing I've seen!

Very happy with this. Start learning the freehand sharpening. Help me keep the consistent angle. Thank you.

Very effective and easy to use. Gives a nice sharp edge

This handy little guy has seen heavy use. Amazing for someone that does not have a very steady hand

As the title says, I’m new to knife sharpening and using free hand or guide wasn’t really working as a I attempted to sharpen my 1st set of knives. After practicing on a test knife this sharpener gave me the confidence to sharpen all my kitchen knives. Big fan

Excelled Design and solid construction. Used with variety of knifes and whetstones

After deciding to take up freehand sharpening this year I have gone through a series of frustrating sharpening sessions that usually left my knives less sharp then when I started (maybe an exaggeration but it sure felt that way). Paper test? barely cutting and definitely catching on dull spots everywhere. Shaving? Fat chance.
Then I saw a video of the Anystone on the sharpening Reddit and decided to give it a shot. After the initial learning curve (5 minutes) I was able to sharpen my large kitchen knife to shaving sharp in 20-30 minutes. I was blown away. I still haven’t gotten truly hair popping sharpness but I was able to remove a good chunk of the hair on my arm lol.
The only thing I have had issues with is my smaller kitchen knives. Some of them are so small that the angle guide makes contact with the stone which makes sharpening at shallower angles (<20) impossible. However any knife with a width closer to an inch or more should work totally fine.
I was able to sharpen larger chefs knives without moving the clamp at all.
Overall this is an amazing product and I highly recommend.

One of my issues with knife sharpening is that I don’t do it often so I haven’t developed the muscle memory to maintain a consistent angle when sharpening on a stone. Anystone
Is intuitive on how to set up any desired edge angle and seems to have been well thought out in design. My Lansky hasn’t held up well in the outdoor saltwater environment but this one should do well.

Initial couple of uses have been great. The tolerances are tight and overall a well built product. I appreciate the precision and the edge it has been bringing to my knives.

I have arthritis in my hands, and I’m so glad I purchased this. There are sort of similar angle guides out there, but none of them are all-in-one like this AND easy to grip and hold (even when I get oil on it). The angle-setting screws are simple to manipulate and the built-in driver means I don’t need other tools on hand—just this and a stone. This guide accepts blades as small as 1/2” wide (3/8” is too small, I tested it) and I haven’t found a maximum yet—just reposition your stone and you’re good to go!
My 11 year old is interested in sharpening as well, and this helps him with his angles while he’s learning. He loves using it!
